The Challenges
Ekanta is dealing with a complex order and production management process that includes multiple stages and channels. Orders come from various sources like their website, Gmail, multiple vendors, and store stock. Staff members are responsible for updating details such as order number, vendor information, style name, size, customer details, and shipping specifics.
Production planning involves several steps starting from checking fabric and trims availability, fabric cutting according to style, pattern making, stitching, hemming, and quality control. Quality control includes checking measurements, fabrics, designs, possible defects, trims, etc. Customization orders undergo double-checking.
Post-production, the pieces are packed with an invoice, tags, and prepared for courier dispatch. Dispatch modes include COD, Local Courier, and International Courier, with tracking details sent to customers. The system also handles COD and order returns, store stock, payment gateway tracking, fabric and trim stock, vendor invoicing, and packing material stock. Alerts are set at every stage to indicate delays in fabric procurement, cutting, stitching, hemming, ironing, QC, and dispatch. The system calculates fabric consumption cost and profit for each style. The accounting module handles orders received, purchase orders, payments to vendors, pending payments, return of goods, cash/card/transfer/cheque expenses, product-wise sold list, customer-wise sales, and category-wise expenses. This comprehensive process enables IMA to manage its operations effectively.
